The quandary here is that if anyone tries to have a discussion about this, they're told that they "care too much", or, failing that, they're bombarded with strawman after strawman about how they think pot should be criminalized because they choose to criticize annoying mouth-breathers who act like something so magical happens every time they smoke a joint that it has to be broadcasted to everyone. Our statement is pretty clear: we don't think there is anything special about pot, and so we're irritated with how people are constantly talking about how high they are, which misrepresents how ordinary and un-special the activity is. Most non-pot smokers actually have nothing against marijuana or most marijuana-smokers, but rather have a neutral attitude towards both. However, pot smokers tend to think that being a pot smoker is like being part of a movement - that's why they make up their own holidays (420), write songs about it, and spend nearly every waking moment of their pathetic lives prowling google for conspiracy theory websites that reaffirm their mistaken belief that marijuana has no adverse health effects*. This pisses non-pot smokers off, hence why this thread exists.

*Note: I'm aware that pot's side effects aren't that bad, probably comparable to alcohol or other legal drugs, and am only ridiculing the people who think that marijuana has *NO* adverse effects.
