Farming faction before patch day to gain an advantage. No one is going to say that 16 hours of grinding isn't something you're happy to do for an advantage.
You think that these 3 specific changes, along with stealth removing the xp bonus... isn't awfully coincidental? Consider that there's no bug report post for raptors, or Chardok faction and then that Azrael was doing them that week.
