dont like shooters at all either but the system of ships and deployment could be cool.
Most of it is to take down the corps and alliances that have become too powerful in eve to shift the tides.
Controlling resources has always been what eve was about and just like nihilum controlling raid mobs because losers join the winning side it ruins gameplay.
This is just another way players can get an edge. Not going to be possible to control all the independent merc corps and alliances shit going to get nasty.
As it stands right now no one can touch what the big alliances in eve can field and losses are expensive there. With mercs you can totally shit on people for close to nothing. All about balance
And while im bored of eve
its the most successful long term mmo of all time for a reason. Its pretty good
