Nihilum doesn't need to sell any of these items because it doesn't really need the platinum, and in all honesty it's really not in their best interest to sell items of considerable power to people not in the guild. However, nonetheless they've decided to open the bank somewhat to the masses. You can accept the price given or you have no chance of ever obtaining the item or getting it from someone else.
