[S] A cliff golem [57 Warrior, The Overthere]
|
After Daire and I duod him, I knew I could solo him if I could get a charm to last for the whole fight. As it turns out, charm did NOT last the whole fight, and I still got him. In fact, charm broke TWICE during the fight and I still got him.
I started things off with umbra, WR, normal weapons, bedlam, and feedback on the undead foreman. I timed the buffing and the final charm before the pull so buffs would all last, but so that I'd also be full mana starting off. I started things by rapturing the cliff golem when he was away from the dragoon, tashed him, stuck slow on the second try, rooted him, and sent pet. Pet broke almost instantly, but fortuitously it broke when he had only done 2% damage to the golem. I ran them towards SF a ways, mezzed pet, rooted golem, and am seen here recharming the foreman:

Fetter wasn't holding too well early on, so I got summoned a time or two before pet had enough aggro to hold without fetter. I was applying bedlams early, not being sure how much damage the golem was going to do to my pet over the whole fight:

Because of the charm break shenanigans earlier, I wasn't sure how long was left on slow, so I re-did it at 64% and hoped it would last to the finish. And then charm broke again. I had thought about how to deal with this beforehand and my plan was to stun pet, mez pet, rapture golem, recharm pet... but when it actually happened the golem was swinging so slowly (I'm still not used to using forlorn instead of tepid on stuff!), I stunned pet, mezzed pet, and allured him while golem took a swing at me. I lost bedlam and rune though, tanking the golem for a few ticks while mez wore off:

After that, fetter was breaking frequently again and my pet had lost his built-up aggro, so I swapped in memory blur for allure (since I was too lom to survive another charm break anyway) and hit him with a blur, but not before I had lost bedlam again and taken a number of hits from the golem:

A sarnak wandered near my pet and I stood up, hoping it wouldn't aggro unless I was sitting or something I guess, but it did anyway. Oh well. Golem was low now and pet was still pretty well off. I figured I was all set barring a third charm break. Then I remembered the golem enrages. I thought that I would turn him around and tank him while pet finished him off, except that forlorn deeds just wore off:

I soaked up a couple rounds and narrowly avoided going below 20%, then decided I'd just hope my pet could bedlamtank + back off spam to survive the enrage. It worked out, and here is pet finishing off golem after enrage:

Loot was better than the 1 jasper Daire and I saw, but not quite a high-level spell:

Hurrah my first solo grandmaster kill!
