You are not going to Solo anything high up mob after mob even with a Fungi. You can Bow kite stuff, it will take forever to do it. Rangers are just to Squishy to do it. And yeah, good luck getting a group. I love my Ranger but they are just totally gimp in Classic in the long run. Shame they have a ton of talents.
