You're never going to get your hours' worth when selling a character. It's like a used car.
It's just the reality of the situation. Nobody is going to pay full price for everything you ever decided to do on your character. Nobody is going to pay full-money equivalent as if they had leveled and geared it themselves.
Levels, no drop equipment, and epics are non-salvageable. Unlike a fungi, you can't simply liquidate when you want to. Once those pieces are a part of your character, it's over and done with.
Example: Mage epic staff MQ is "going" (term used lightly) for 300k. Crown of Elemental Mastery is what? Another 50? I doubt you could sell a 60 epic Mage with full planar for 350k. Which means if you break it down to its parts, you're getting 0 plat for the fact that the Mage is level 60 and full planar. Never mind JBoots, peg cloak, Seb key, HS key, and any droppables.
It's not efficient to combine all of your assets into one massive, inseparable no drop package. If you decide to do that and then want to sell your account, you should expect about 50 cents on the dollar.

Selling less worthwhile classes or classes that have relatively easy to access epics for certain guilds aren't worth as much as a high value class with an extremely contested epic that cannot be MQ'd.
Enchanter epic alone is best in slot in Velious and nothing changes on the epic then to make it less contested or easy. Mage epic only has one true bottleneck, and after they make the staff drop off the named PoH addition, they'll rain from the sky.
I want what I want and that's it. Many items on this server are ridiculously overpriced. Items that drop in Kunark off Trak sometimes go for nothing all the way to dumb-founded ridiculous for an item that come Velious, will be garbage. A 60 enchanter with epic come Velious, is not garbage, not by a long shot.
This in fact IMO is an investment. The items I'm asking for are near junk compared to Velious loot which anyone who could afford this character would assuredly have access to.
