You don't understand the severity of these situations, Kruel.
If you have a day where you need to defend your life/limb/property (or that of a family member), you're already a victim of Murphy's law. You are NOT in a position where you can afford to be betting on "most criminals don't want a gun fight" or "warning shots will usually scare off an attacker" or "gee, I hope I can get down to the basement and find my grandpa's old deer rifle and get it loaded up before my kids get murdered in their sleep."
If someone is unwilling to kill in self defense, then they need a lesson in the value of their own life... not a lesson in how to maybe possibly perhaps not get murdered/mugged/raped/robbed.
