But just to humor you, AA is neither of those things. Not even close. There are all kinds of different faiths/religions in AA, so clearly there is no devotion towards a particular figure or object, and unless Christianity is suddenly considered strange or sinister, the second definition doesn't apply either. Christianity is neither strange nor sinister, which is why I don't understand why it's taboo to point out the religious roots of Alcoholics Anonymous. This is a well known issue within AA, and has been debated since the manuscript of The Big Book was first penned.
