I disagree.
Some aspects of the pvp was good, but watching any of the hardcore pvp videos, you can see just how horrible the pvp and gameplay really was.

You had to juggle 2 dozen short duration buffs, while literally binding every ability in the game. Every player had every skill, so it was nothing but a clone war until the bitter end. There was next to no diversity. Yes, a great deal of skill was involved in aiming, twitch and mastering every school of magic and somehow managing to find logical bindings for that many abilities. Its just trash that a game would fail to create some sort of limitations on how many abilities you can truly be proficient in at one time ("roles": skill caps): thus, the gameplay sucked hard.

There were maybe a dozen buffs if that (only 2-3 of them really necessary), and most of them lasted 10-15 minutes+. The gameplay took an incredible amount of skill and yeah, there were a lot of keybinds, so what? No other MMO even begins to touch it. It was incredibly rewarding to beat people, especially when heavily outnumbered.
I've also never understood the whole "there HAVE to be coded roles in the mechanics of the game" thing. Everyone had their own individual playstyle and in a strong coordinated group everyone knew their role.
The combat was simply amazing. It's just a shame AV took too long to fix the grind, bugs/exploits from early on, and add more sandbox fluff.
