I'm getting pretty close to finishing the challenge after almost a year, so I thought I'd go clean up some KC mobs that somehow I just haven't managed to find up (damn druids).

The Construct of Sathir was pretty straightfoward:

also: Nordenwatch gradually realizing enchanters >> necros

So after a few rounds I got the warlord to spawn and I prepared to unleash charmed bodyguard fury. It did not go as planned.

OK, I'll just use Boltrans and cancel the root.

At this point I decided to just wait for the next repop in the hope that it wouldn't be an annoyingly high level one. It spawns, I mez it, and it resists . . . which is a very bad sign. I decide to use Boltrans on it just in case and, yep, its L52 as well.

Despite being weaponized, hasted, and only one level lower than the Warlord, my pet is unable to finish him before another one pops, although that might be because he broke charm once or twice.

I didn't recast bedlam on myself because I had so little mana I wanted to be able to recharm with Boltrans at least once (usually I'd get bailed out by my puppet strings here, but they were out of charges and wouldn't work on L52 stuff anyway). Fortunately this charm lasted just long enough to kill the warlord . . .

and not a second longer. Drained of both hitpoints and mana, our hero beat a hasty retreat, not wishing to have matching supple scale armbands.

So I "just" need to get down to the hole and pay Dartain a visit. Unfortunately someone has been camping him pretty hard lately.

Also, to answer your question Sinadin Djarn isn't too bad; the big problem is he's very resistant. When I killed him I tanked on Loraen with a backstabbing imp and a lot of runes. Supposedly the best way to kill him is to get them to fight through the wall in his lair, but that seems a bit dubious. The nice thing about Djarn is that even with his MR he's still only L50, so you have some reasonable chance to evade his nukes/melee. Still, he's no pushover - there is a reason he's on the master list.
