I think highly technically advanced and/or realistic graphics don't necessarily equal good graphics.
It's like comparing a photograph and a painting and asking which is better. The overall aesthetic is more important... lots of people bitch about WoW having shitty cartoonish graphics, but I think they accomplish damned good aesthetics with relatively simple and efficient graphics.
Plus, the god-awful amount of work that went into making Skyrim look so pretty could have gone toward gameplay
