This isnt a server where there is no xp loss in pvp, and since this prevents people from making pvp alts, new guys like yourself find themselves logging in to empty zones.
Who in his right mind would want to have an alt to pvp when you have to grind PVE each time u die in PVP. On top of grinding PVE each time u die in pvp on your main.
We have some hardcore basement dwellers in here, but nowhere near that epic.
Im trolling a bit, but id be curious to know if that exists at all on this server, someone who has a main close to 60, and still finds time to log an alt and regularly pvp with him/PVE him to keep him at a steady level
Its just the nature and consequence of the servers ruleset
P.S. Poster on top of me has it right, unrest basically only chance to find pvp regularly, but then again people will plug, leave, instead of fighting for hours like in classic as a general rule
Even post-50 this is how it goes 90% of the times. You will not find a zone where people are actively pvping for hours on end. If thats what youre looking for, do yourself a favor and find yourself another game to play. I know that if i was starting here late, i would hope there would be somebody like me to lay it out like this so id know what to expect.
What you will get is, say, <Full Retard> zoning to sebilis, wiping <Nihilum> once. They will plug, leave, try to get their bod and get killed again, but you will not see them try to get the zone back and have this kind of back and forth, king of the hill gameplay you had on Rallos on red99. <Flowers of Happiness> zoning into City of Mist, wiping <Brethren> and emptying the zone as people plug, gate with no intention of fighting because of the xp loss sting. That is the consequence of the decision the devs here made when they stuck with this awful "Classic" ruleset and have a level 56 lose almost a full blue when he dies in pvp.
The ugly truth is that Red99 is full of blubies that dont really wanna pvp or else they would be more vocal about this. Or they enjoy griefing too much with it to want it removed and unable to see that this is against their self-interest of a healthy, growing, populated server, kinda like poor.people voting for republicans.
Ive seen big battles go on for more than 30 minutes maybe twice or 3 times in 6months+ of playing on box and that doesnt seem to bother 90% of the people here
Even if people realized how bad this is for the health of the server, the devs are deadset on sticking to major decisions theyve made forever, even really bad ones.
So theres my cheery assessment of the state of the "PVP" server 2013, 3 weeks early scoop.

All of this is coming from a player who is not guilded with either of the guilds currently fighting over content and has no idea what actually is unfolding aside from guessing at it from ooc chatter.
There is almost always PvP at Seb and KC. Seb will usually end up being 10+ v 10+, KC more often group v group. Stray 1 v 1s are not common for the exact same reason they were not common endgame on any live server; you are rewarded for grouping in this game and established players have adapted to this paradigm.
PvP does go back and forth for a while, but no, it isn't a WoW battleground with endless respawning ADHD PvP. If you get some friends together and kill people enough, generally they will leave. You might even have a chance to BC or CC someone if you are lucky.
Last weekend was was a great ~ 12v12 in WC. On Thursday we had a fairly disorganized ~ 18v20. Friday was a fun 4v4 in DL for about 45 mins. And I don't even play that much.
Low population has pushed everyone into one of two guilds 50+, and there is plenty of PvP within that dynamic. Because there are very few stray players, if you are looking at PvP as picking off random guys as they XP in BW or LGuk, you will probably be disappointed. As well, if you miss the old school EC/BB/CB 10-16 PvP scene of RZ, you can probably find something similar 25-35 in Unrest.
