Pros:
It gives people credit for kills without having to be obnoxious over /ooc.
It cuts down on the screenshot or it didn't happen or any other bs chat that happens over /ooc.
It gives an immediate indicator to where PvP is happening so others can join in if they want. With a low population this is good news.
Someone bind camping someone gets caught and friends of the camped can help out.
Cuts down on PvE training because believe it or not that Yellow Text will be a big motivator to do actual PvP.
Any kind of incentive added to kill someone without rewarding the PvPer with items/points/gear/etc is a great implementation in my opinion. I also think it is a good penalty to players being killed that doesn't set them back PvE wise.
Cons:
It gives your location (I actually think this is a pro but I understand people being against it)
It embarrasses people that get killed
