I just spent a day in Misty thicket. As in around 9 to 12 hours real time. During that time I killed approx. 50 Giant Wasps. In all of those I only received the giant venom sac 3 times. I did not obtain a single Giant Wasp wing from all those kills. Also I never saw Royal Jelly once. In that time as I remember it when I did the quest often on live I would have around the range of 4 to 7 wings and at least one royal jelly if not a few.

They aren't
thattt rare. 50 kills? :T The wings are more likely to drop than the venom sacs. The number generator must have had its way with you.

Assuming that the giant wasps were replaced with giant yellowjackets in modern eqlive Misty, the giant wasp wings are currently 7% as indicated on magelo.

As far as the Giant Wasp spawning it also seems broken. I cleared (by dragging the entire area to the guards) beyond the gate many times during my stay in the Thicket and in that time I saw a Giant Wasp spawn 2 times amongst the roaming mobs. the only place I actually found the Wasps to spawn is at the totem that spawns undead. At this totem the timer is off as in live the undead only spawn at night at the totem and yet during a 24 hour game cycle both undead and living spawn at that totem.

Research suggests this. I am going to add a few more spawns, and make the wasps a day time only spawn, replaced with undead at night.

They certainly do drop it. Perhaps the combination of not enough spawns, slightly too low drop rate, and the RNG hating on you, it seemed they were missing altogether.
Pending update,
-Slightly increased drop rate of giant wasp wings
-Added giant wasp eye to giant wasp loottables
-Added additional giant wasp spawns
-Wasps are daytime only spawn, replaced with undead at night.
Should these even drop royal jelly?
