I did a lot of King camp (as a rogue) with a chanter and his pet.
The pet would out DPS me if I did not spend 100% of my time behind the mob (aggro ping pong, for example).
But if I stayed behind the mob I would pull aggro.
However, I was Discing on every pull. Since we only pulled once every 30 minutes.

And a SK does thousands of DPS for the tenth of a second that he spends using his HT once every 72 minutes. But is that relevant when discussing a chart about sustained DPS in relatively practical situations? Of course not.
I'm confused by your post anyways. "The pet does more DPS than me unless I'm behind the mob all the time, except I am never behind the mob all of the time." Oh yeah? Well my wizard does almost 200 DPS when he has unlimited mana and no aggro!
