I'm willing to bet not many of you. Those that were here can vouch for how bad it really was. The problem isn't necessarily that a GM was being called to mediate every single raid boss (We can easily tell who got FTE relatively quickly), but the fact that the guilds treated eachother worse than they do now. No variance means poop socking.. the closer it gets to the spawn time, the more guilds show up. One guild might have been there waiting for 10 hours and another guild shows up 2 hours before it spawns. How fair is that?

So that's why the 15 person rule was originally implemented (Which still exists btw). As long as you maintained 15 people on top of the spawn point within aggro range, you had claim to the mob. Then as soon as a guild fell to 14 people, perhaps someone went linkdead for only a minute, the other guild would rush in and claim. GM's would be called, there was no way to prove either, but it's still a douchebag move. It got even worse when the era of rule lawyering started.

Now let's look at the Fippy server. I don't have all the information about what occurred there but I do know it was an absolutely spectacular clusterfuck. Many things were tried until eventually the GM's instituted a mandatory rotation. No matter what you do the guilds are going to treat eachother like shit. What's funny and/or sad is they don't even realize it themselves. They get so worked up over things that they form biased opinions which lead into a call for GM mediation, then obviously a decision has to be made which will inevitably result in one guild winning the dispute over the other, and the losing guild will immedietely and automatically cry claims of favoritism and corruption.

I don't want to force a rotation on the players. I believe in fair and fun competition. Players coming up with their own agreements is great as well but I don't think we should need to force anything upon them.
And what Rogean says, goes.
