I know decaying skeletons always attacked me as a paladin regardless of level or area. I piped up when I noticed the change in Sol A. The only thing I can think of is that in live, by the time I used to go back to Sol A as a high level to gut the place, there was a change I didn't detect.
I always remembered being able to stand right in front of a green con goblin in Sol A when I was higher level (L50+) and never being attacked unless I sat down. I had done some leveling in there from L23-ish to L28. I expected everything to attack on site. It did.
It must have changed in between my live leveling time (99-00) and going back a way higher level (01+).
If this is the case, is there any time line to it? I'm wondering when in Live was there the change away from the purportedly classic model of humanoid greens attacking anybody whose faction was bad enough. At some point, they stopped doing it. What was that point?

This seems pretty accurate to me. Only going by what I remember. I spent a lot of time in early EQ live soloing and kiting. And at some point it was changed. I for the life of me can't remember though.
One thing I am fairly certain on is I remember if you aggro'd a green mob the others would assist if they were kos regardless of level or con. So you could stand in front of that green and not get killed but the moment you aggro'd him his friends jumped in and helped.
This is only how I remember it though. I could be wrong.
