NFL ref solution ( tip share! )
Hey NFL...here's an idea...why not pay the ref's a base salary plus a "tip share" like they do in the restaurant industry? Add up the how much all the players are making for each game and take out 5%, then split that out evenly to the whole officiating crew. 53 players per roster = 106 players. ~$15k paid to players per game. Add's up to about $79.5k / game to split via 7 ref's. That's about 11k per game for each ref plus base salary.
