This is what happened when they allowed transfers to Zek (after all those years).
Forums lit up with activity, but all the activity on the zek forum was "please let me transfer back to my blue server" lol.
People who want to play on red are playing, transfers would just mean they log on for a hour, run around, and ever log in again.
What it would do though is cheapen the server as all of us have our buddies character stables coppied over with every class in the game and thus never have to level "be in the world" again.
EQ had a server like this, think called Trakanon, that I think died faster then any other server EQ has EVER launched. Was a total joke server with the last dozen player begging to be merged so soon after the server launched it was shocking.
People want to invest in their characters, without that they have no attachment to their toons or the community and stop playing.
This game is about the journy, without it, its not even a game.
