I imagine some don't even know that they can revert to the older pet models. I myself always associate the "pet grunt" when they attack with the blob with arms, that double-fisted punch forward no matter what weapon(s) they are weilding.
Of course some probably like the new models. Eh, I only see the old so I don't care who uses what
