Once you get the hang of it, DayZ in Chernarus is incredibly easy.
It might just be that on my server(friend of mine runs it) we have some tent camps set way out in the middle of nowhere(i.e nowhere near any loot areas) that we've put some stuff in, but even before that it wasn't much of a challenge. We've all mostly quit because once you get your ghillie suit, NODs, and your weapon of choice you only have flying around in a helicopter and shooting people as options.
Zombies are easy to deal with even without any means to defend yourself. Running through buildings, knowing how their AI works, and knowing the layouts of most cities makes them so non-threatening that I always sprint because lol-zombies can't get me unless they turn out to be Mike Tyson and knock me out with a single hit through a wall.

DayZ in Lingor, however, is loads of fun. A lot less needless running, better spaced out item spawns and cities as well as p much every building is enterable, and even though zombies are still pretty easy, you'll have a harder time avoiding contact with them. They seem to pick up on you a lot quicker, so you either go all in on stealth or not at all. A friend and I found that it's a lot of fun running around the islands with nothing but a Lee Enfield killing people. Less time spent running around, more time spent shooting things and actually seeing other people.
