I'm assuming that probably every mage with an earth staff has already turned it in for their epic (except one Div mage that I know of who rarely plays and isn't even signed up) since it's the most cockblocked piece by far, so this is a little bit silly. Also I'm not even sure that the earth pet would be the best one to use. There's no disadvantage (and if there is, it's so minor compared to the disadvantage that non-epic mages have over epic ones).
