I used to just put all of my latest buffs on the first page (1 and 2), because those were the spells changed out most often. Older spells went to the back of the book. On page 3, the left page when you turn it, I put the 8 spells that I would always mem after dying.
Honestly though, I use the right-click method to change my spells now. No, it's not classic, but it's there, and I'm too lazy to organize my spell book
