so your priorities == PvE first PvP second ?
My goal in EQ was to kill people on the other team as often as possible + protect the territory I considered "mine" (dark zones). At no point did I ever give a shit about "defeating the evil monsters". I in fact positively hated raiding and the only time I ever showed up to raids was if I was there to crash the party. I would farm the bare minimum of gear I needed for pvp, and that was it.
My routine when I played this some 10+ years ago was to log on and literally drive the lighties out of the Kunark zones. That is all my guild did. We'd try to take back Karnors Castle on the regular, as KC and DL would have 70+ lightie targets all the time. I spent 95%+ of my playtime pvping. Why else would I play on a red server?
It's really just pathetic that these supposed pvp servers always degenerate into who can outzerg eachother for pve raids until one "wins" by proxy of being the fattest.
On live there were enough guilds in the mix to prevent this from happening. The FFA ruleset doesn't help and neither does having no cap on guild size.

That was the difference in sz, but it had no item loot, so hardly hardcore. More immersion really, which is cool if its your thing.
Couldn't care less about roleplay, I was in it for experiencing the game with player competition. Thats what classic EQ was about. I've always been an avid fan of FPS, so I played those if I needed skill based pvp. Feel free to play it the way you do, but thats not what it was about on Rallos Zek. Yes, pve over pvp on my main character. PvP players, or PKs on RZ were banished from ever achieving anything. You couldn't even show your face in a zone like karnors or sebilis or every guild would have killed you on sight.
