Isn't Black Pantherskin gonna blow Wu's out of the water when Velious come out? And still be about the same price given it's a Monk-only armor?
As for why you want WQS or any decent 2-hander over most 1-handers is for two reasons: 1 is a bigger damage bonus to your weapon as you level, 2 you hit harder, which means fewer hits needed to kill a target, which means your attacks get riposted less, which means you take less damage/die less.
Though most monks, if they can help it, should be attacking from behind anyway.
