Because the stuff they want costs more than 120K and they want it faster than over a period of a few months?
Same reason 40 people log in on Christmas Day to kill a dragon in a video game?
There are varying degrees of "hardcore" on this server. Some people are willing to invest more time into this than others. That doesn't automatically scream RMT like you think it does.
But if that is what's happening, then I hope Amelinda catches and bans every single last one of them.
