I wouldn't waste time doing tradeskills for the 8th shawl. As much as I would love them to make it available anyways, shawl in velious stop at 7.
and the giants during the ring war were pretty much unkittable at first, unless you put a tank on them, they wouldnt aggro the player and go straight for thurg. Kiting 90 % of the giants by a bard didn't work, in classic EQ.

I'm going to reserve judgment on that. Personaly I dont see anything wrong with maybe having shawl quest 8 added at a later time as a sort of custom content Nilbog talked about. Or some sort of EPIC 2.0 I think quests and items we can still desire will keep us inerested in the game
