you might be right though.. the community for P99 seems to value a written application process for some reason so It may be time for me to move on to a new community.

Hokay. So. You obviously are enjoying your time on p99 or you wouldn't have been active on the forums and put in the time necessary to make level 60 and all that.
But you're of the mindset that it might be time to abandon p99 and move onto a different community/game because you can't be bothered to fill out a 5-minute application before a guild accepts you? You're willing to go through a weeks-long trial period, but you are unwilling to start that off by filling out a simple form?

The written application is just something that leaders like to do. The bigger guilds that do any raiding want to see that you're at least minimally interested in being a contributing member. The smaller guilds have applications just because that's the thing to do. Hell. I even advocated AGAINST adopting an application procedure when I had a different character in Maelstrom a few months ago, and no one could even really spell out why there should be a written application... but there you have it.
