You should be able to craft a pair of electrum catseye bracelets (+4 CHA each) or electrum jade bracelets (+10 HP/Mana, 2AC) early in your career to fill out your equipment. When you run the Stein of Moggok quest, be sure to check vendors in Oggok to see if anyone has sold them a Crude Stein (+15 CHA, +10 STA, drops from ogre guards) which costs only about 8pp. I use the following table for jewelcrafting, though the one in the P99 Wiki also has the trivial skill levels listed.
