I'm glad you remember your training. I double majored in computer science and psychology and currently in grad school doing experimental work with machine learning and in particular natural language processing. Since MMORPGs model human interacts surprisingly well I actually use log files from these games in some of my research to collect data to analyze.
That aside and on a less computational level, I've always been fascinated with this concept of trolling and how people carry themselves on the internet. It's interesting to see how people interpret hostility or threat to status in a virtual environment where the aggressor stimuli is entirely fictional. As technology plays an increasingly important roles in our social lives, mapping contrived stimuli to appropriate natural stimuli and triggering correct behavioral responses will be important in human-machine-human interactions.

I find it even more interesting how someone can misinterpret hostility and "threats to status". The ego is a fascinating thing.
