Not surprising to see Supreme disliking GoD, the best expansion in the history of EQ, because it was too difficult. I loved how you got your ass handed to you in the first zone of GoD, and how it only got worse. I loved how you had to use invis again, walk carefully through zones, got assraped by those fucking dog things at bard selo speed. I loved how they finally were able to add scripts to raids. GoD was awesome.

LULZ.
I was in Crimson Tempest when GoD came out. Difficulty had NOTHING to do with it. The entire system of progression was nothing more than buy this expansion to grind A into B to achieve C. While placing an unnecessary choke point (Uqua) to stifle all but the most hardcore.
Being in CT we got through everything in a couple months with the exception of Tacvi Final boss.
Issues with GoD included lack of focus on the progression (IE you had to have EVERYONE keyed then it was changed to you only need ONE person keyed) followed by changes in raid content (after the high end guilds already had to grind through it). There was not enough testing and as a whole did not inspire the same feeling of "Everquest" the majority of players had enjoyed.

You sound like one of those that got into late GoD AFTER they actually listened to high end raid guilds concern about the bugs/content and made corrections.
