Also, the OPFOR has never been referred to as "Special Operations Group OPFOR." The closest thing is that your unit had a "special designation" as an OPFOR unit.

Before it was organized into the a "Regiment" there was a 1st Battalion/52nd Infantry Divison the 1st Battalion/63rd Armor Division and the 177th FSB under the 177th Combat Brigade. Also attached was 31st Maint and 512th Maint Battalions.

Opfor heald special operations status while it conducted special operations services until the late 90's. After i was already gone.

Unless you served and know what Fort Irwin was like then you really just need to shut the fuck up...
