Yep, griefers were probably like less than 10% on classic. More than half the server are griefers here, which has basically resulted in nothing but lawlessness where on rallos zek, there was a clearly defined system of order amongst the chaos and potential chaos.

There were rivalries, and all the pvp you could want, but the alliances did not attack random players. Most of the quarrels stemmed from small groups or individuals who wronged other guilds. Usually offending players would be removed from guilds rather than bring a bad name on their guild. In contrast, on R99, many guilds don't want you unless you're a griefer or are willing to become one.
I think the fact that this system existed 10+ years ago makes a difference, but if this server had the kind of population that the Zeks did back then, you'd probably see the PvP system change a fair bit.

Atm, I don't think the server has the kind of population(read: large guilds/alliances) to sustain such a system, so griefing is the regular form of guerilla PvP, since large-scale wars are very few and far between.
