I know there has always been griefers in EQ, I remember then back in 1999. What i'm trying to say is they were in the very small minority back then. Problem here is (and what I blame the low server pop on) the percentage of griefers is MUCH higher, I can't tell you what exact percentage here, but I can tell you its higher then is healthy for a EQ server. Much higher.
Just a shame more old school "non-griefers" did not come out for this to keep the ratio more healthy.

Below 40, I've encountered tons of nice people on this server. But the people at the top will always be that elitist mix of player where it's very, very hard to be nice. ESPECIALLY on a PvP server.
The low population does hurt it, yes, simply because a larger proportion of players on the server are those elites at the top(/who all Nihilum sometimes accounts for 40%+ of server pop, if you throw in /who all Holocaust and /who all Founding it's like 70% at times).
All the more reason to encourage new people to play. Although, it takes a specific kind of player to be able to survive on a server like this, so not all players will be capable of sticking around.
