Shamans suck only if you waste your time dotting someone that keeps curing said dot.
Rooting more than once.
Not have a pet
and not nuking 100% of the time
Other than that, they are pretty boss when you don't have to cast 4 buffs on 16 people every hour.
Shamans on blue had a 34pt regen(Rage) which was absolutely sick until Kunark came out. Was an oversight that the spell had a regen, worked out great for those playing shaman.
When plane of fear was still fresh on p99, you could attack a mob with a non-magic weapon. This would, for some reason, put a negative value hit on the mob and ALWAYS award you the kill. I leveled a 15shm to 50 by KSing spectres/lguk.
Was mad sick as a shaman during early p99. I lvl'd that alt soo fast. I had 8 manastones, because the drop rate was soooooo much better than this red99 bullshit, and traded for a fungy/JBB in kunarx.
I had a lot of fun as a shaman on p99.
