Ah so you're a overpaid grease monkey. Makes sense now. (Boeing > Pratt btw).
I love how specialty mechanics think they're always top shit. Wow -you can put an engine back together and replace some parts in it. How impressive that is when you have comprehensive manuals and step by step instructions often logged from previous repairs. You're so blessed with amazing genetics to be able to do such intensive labor!
You work with the engine off. You finish your work (in how ever long it takes you to); you then you turn back on the engine to test to see if its working - if it sounds fine and is running how you want it to. You can then turn it off and work on it some more until you're satisfied. You can even go home in the middle of a job and come back the next day. We're all so impressed you have such an intense job, technical job. Please brag more about it and your fine genetics sir.
Compare that to say a real repairman - a surgeon. That guy has to work on an "engine" (the heart, lungs, a brain, ect) while its still running. Often under a strict time schedule. He usually only gets one shot to get things right and can't stop his job in the middle to consult a manuals and diagrams.
Mechanics who brag like Slapen does are usually nothing more then guys who have some skill in repairing things but couldn't cut it as a Surgeon.
