Um, why? I was always able to give my pet 2 weapons on live. Used to carry 2 bags full (usually gnoll hide lariats) just for pet usage...

Yes it does. The necro pet dual wields. The shaman pet does not
so the damage margin is a bit wider than 7 points.

Umm, did I mention that it's the only pet that does not dual wield? That
alone reduces its damage by 40% as compared to any pet of the same
level.

Too bad none of that pertains to shaman pets as our pets do not use weapons
at all just keep it nice and buffed and it will do it's job just fine.
