Since no patch notes im going to assume it was snuck in, just like the pets taking 75% of exp if you do not do 51% of the damage or more unless grouped.

I think it was established pretty quickly that mobs should and would be seeing invis in the hole. I'm sorry you took a break instead of taking advantage of it further.
