Sorry you aren't having fun Cast.

It is true the server population is lower than on BLUE. Basically you have a bunch of folks that would rather sit around and /random and wait in line or worse never get to hold a camp because some persistent people have set up round the clock camping to sell the loot for Real Money.

So you have an older server with well established players that may be averse to player challenge and don't enjoy re-leveling a character. It isn't a big surprise they have a higher population. EQ was never designed as a PvP based game, it is a PvE game that has some limited PvP options that give players more tools to leverage when dealing with other players. Unless a BLUE player is unhappy and want the PvP options they have no reason to leave.

I think many people thought the RED server was going to be some automatic success but really the RED server is what WE make it. If you want a healthy population then you are going to have to work at it, Help support, not exterminate other players, organize a guild, give people a reason to stay and play after they realize how bad solo EQ play can be.

The one truth about PvP in MMOs is the dangerous End game, or "END of the world GAME". If you are so powerful that you destroy all your enemies over and over, then you will be left playing the game alone.

On a related note for new P99 people lurking out there. The RED forums as a cesspool of faggotry.

The actual RED server play is nothing like the posts and there are lots of people pulling things together. Check out the Guild Velocity for a decent group guys helping organize lower level players.
