It's doable with 40 it just requires *way* more farming and *way* more coordination. Even still, on initial attempts and without planar gear, there's some RNG involved (with EQ resists imagine that shit).

Am I just misunderstanding this completely? Naggy is a level 55 mob. Level 50's have a decent chance at resisting his ae's with 200+ resists, which are easily attainable with regular buffs (including bard songs) and decent gear. 3-4 groups, with good resists on the melees (no planar gear/tranix crowns required) can down him easily. I remember we killed Naggy
in the lair on the kunark beta server with ~24 people, no deaths, and no walling, and that's nothing to brag about (and even though it was kunark beta, very few people in our raid force were higher than 51).
