I wouldn't say blue is any better at this point. It's actually really sad what's going on with all of the training in VP. It's just as childish as the shit that's going on over on red. It seriously boggles my mind that people find that fun, and also go to the forums to brag about training mobs to kill each other. You guys are doing big things there.

VP only has an effect on people that are keyed and have a guild willing to enter it.
Red = Blue VP + perma PVP flag.
Honestly, not all of the people in VP like the training. Some do, some don't. Everyone has a serving of what they like
