Well for home defense I have a rottweiler, and now a Mastiff. Guns for hime defense are statisticaly useless in all but the most rare and special cases.
I do collect guns also though, and enjoy shooting. However most of my guns (not all....) are flintlock / blackpowder rifles and pistols. The loaded .68 pistol would work well enough in a pinch if i had to though, and take out the front door with it.
Were a bit eccentric, but its fun.
