We killed Eldrig the Old the day after the patch.
He drops the guts. he spawned right next to the overthere zone and then roams toward bw.

Eldrig the Old: A 51st chromodrac, summons (and either blood boils you or dispells you when he does), and claws for 145. Not fun to fight--key is to keep him feared with DOTs. He wanders the same route over and over. It moves from about 500 meters out from the Burning Woods zones, over the hills, to back over the hills, by the skeleton graveyard (I think this is the wizard spot for Tishan's Relocation), past it, near the SW corner of the zone (the best place to fight him, few or no wanderers and lots of open spaces), then around to an area about 200-300 meters from The Overthere zone (you would almost run into him if you run straight from the zone into Skyfire). He wanders this path constantly, stopping at times. I can't really provide locations (I use them, but tend to go by landmarks more).

I got him a few days ago. Set up camp just north of the Overthere Zone. He is not on the same cycle as the other named. His PH's are Chromadracs, mature wurms and wurms. You'll need to kill those till you find his PH, then it's easy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Sit around 500, neg 4000
Good luck

Using some knowledge gleaned from nearby soloing wizards and necros, I found a mob spawn point at approximately +500 -4000. Basically go to OT, then head north a bit til you're at +500.
This spot has a spawn point, just a little out from the zone wall. If the placeholder is dead, every 15 min or so a mob will spawn there, path out from the wall a bit, then head south towards OT. Edrig spawns RIGHT THERE at this spot. Eldrig is NOT on the named cycle, he has his own cycle which consists of a bunch of placeholders and then him.
Ah you say. Very interesting, cool, and neat! But what is the placeholder? Well here's the problem. I have seen this spot spawn "Chromadrac", "a Wurm", and "a Mature Wurm" style mobs. You will basically have to find the placeholder - somewhere in the zone because it roamed off - and kill it before the spot will start spawning. What I did was to fire up tracking, find the oldest spawn of those types that I could (lower on the tracking list), and kill it. Took me and my band of stalwart wurmslayers four hours but I finally got the PH dead and the spot started popping.
The good news is Eldrig is pretty common. Once I started popping the spot, he spawned on the 4th try. I then gleefully killed him, looted, and left Skyfire forever, never to return. I was told by a friendly druid that he popped again right after I left, heh.
Synopsis: Eldrig is not on the named cycle, he has his own. The spot is at approx +500 -4000 on the western wall north of OT. The spot has a PH, and the PH roams off somewhere. Finding the PH and killing him is a tremendous pain, but it's all worth it in the end.
It took me about 5 days and a lot of experimentation to get this to work. Once I had it working, everything was golden.

Aenae's report is correct. After pulling the named cycle for a week for various groups and still not finding Eldrig, I followed Aenae's advice. I had my roommate's druid sitting at the 500, -4000 spawn point (invis, he is only level 20, heh) while I killed everything I saw near the BW/boneyard area. Once something spawned by the druid, I just went up to that spot and kept killing whatever spawned.
A couple notes: the spawn time seems to be 13 minutes. The placeholder can be pretty much any mob type; I saw bottomless feasters, skyash/skycinder drakes, wurms, mature wurms, wyverns, and chromodracs during the six hours I was there.
Now, I'm not saying Eldrig doesn't spawn anywhere else, but I am saying he definitely does spawn at this location, and that I have never seen him on the named cycle.
