1. Latent genes for those skin tones exist in every person, and are expressed more or less over time based on environment (adaptation). You have the same genes in your cells that someone of a different race has in theirs, with the difference accounted for in expression.
2. Society is largely uneducated, and often place constructions on things that don't exist.
