Basically, it details how to start a non-violent revolution. The main thing to gain from it is the list of 198 specific non-violent revolutionary actions. This is deceptively simple, and you really should watch the associated documentary "How To Start A Revolution" on Current TV to see how effective it has been and can be. In the documentary, the "leaders" from several revolutions (Otpor, Orange, Egypt, etc.) give partial credit to Gene Sharp for liberating their countries, even though he never had anything to do with those revolutions. The ideas are the powerful thing. Read it.
