I think there should be a greater desire for no-drop items, and that droppable items should be commodities.

Again i suggest that we make item loot on a voluntary basis.
Something like an NPC that marks your character as one that can loot and be looted. Only players who has been marked by this NPC can either loot or be looted by other marked players.
That way players who want item loss can participate in it, while others who dont, dont have to.
Its been pointed out that this can be exploited, say with 5 players with noloot status and 1 player who does the killing blow, but if explained thoroughly that this could happen i think this might be some sort of make everyone happy solution.
