I seem to remember the same. Orc scalps were from the deathfist orc type.

With the giant patch a week or so ago, it said that:
Orcs can now be dismembered
After that, ppl began finding "Orc Scalps" or Orc Pawns and Centurions in Gfay and Crushbone.
These Scalps, unlike the ones found on Antonica, are worthless to merchants.
