Wheel of time will never be released as a movie, unless they just condense a few books in to one movie that has the same characters/plot concept but otherwise doesn't resemble the book at all. It's just too damn long to properly portray in a movie.
Compare it to Song of Ice and Fire. HBO needed an entire season to portray each individual book. Some WoT books are longer than Ice and Fire books, and WoT's intended series is twice as many books (14) as Ice and Fire's intended series length. I don't even expect Ice and Fire to survive through seven seasons. I actually don't expect that waste of space Martin to finish the series, tbh. I think he will pull a Robert Jordan.
With that said, I think WoT is worth reading. It had its high and low points. I read it first at 19 and re-read the series last year in anticipation of book 13 (8 years later). I actually enjoyed it more this time around as I was able to appreciate the subtlety of the plot and character development. Also, since I read them all straight through I didn't wait a couple years between books and was able to retain a lot more of the details about prophecy foreshadowing and ter'angreals that are relevant to the end battle.

agreed, this type of epic fantasy appears to ramble when it is translated into a movie, i more suspect a movie would be a "WoT themed" "based on WoT" type adaptation.
