I killed Lightadam and Ace with 2 sunstrikes in the wizard BotB. Sunstrike and Ice comet would do more damage than lures until Luclin arrived.
Himaru: "i have sunstrike land consistantly for 1k or more on fully buffed druids. Other night I took out best pally on server fully buffed WITH a level 60 cleric in 7 casts, 3 sunstrikes 2 lures. She had Aego and fully buffed- you do the math."
Sunstrike and Ice comet had a different resist table than the draught line and ice spear. Lures didn't have a resist check at all until the revamp (95% chance to land). I dueled Ostrik a dozen or so times and it always came down to me spamming sunstrike against his ice comet (he didn't have sunstrike through velious). Once a wizard learns how to channel through the shock of lightning push back and move out of a rain Sunstrike and Ice comet were the best damage.
